Washington DC Tarot Society

Mission Statement

The mission of The Washington DC Tarot Society is to have a safe and supportive atmosphere to practice tarot reading as well as to investigate the mysteries of the tarot.  We intend to create a positive environment for learning and sharing all aspects of the tarot.  We support each other in endeavors to read privately or publicly--either as a group or as individuals--whenever possible.

The Washington DC Tarot Society is not allied with any religious or political sect, organization or institution.  We do not engage in any controversy, nor endorse or oppose any cause.  We do not encourage religious or political discussion.

Bylaws

1.     As tarot readers we are not allied with any sect, denomination, political or religious entity, organization or institution and do not engage in any controversy, religious discussion or proselytization.

2.     Members must have a basic understanding of the Tarot.  WDCTS meetings are not a forum for teaching basic tarot meanings.

3.     Members should refrain from bringing guests who are not familiar with the Tarot.

4.     Members are expected to carry themselves professionally, showing common courtesies and respect to all fellow members.  It is especially important that during a presentation or group reading, members are respectful and quiet (i.e., not whispering or chatting).

5.     Information revealed during WDCTS meetings is considered private and confidential. (reason for guest limit)

6.     Members are urged to be prompt.  If this is unrealizable, please respect others by entering quietly and ordering lunch at a separate table.  Information missed may be obtained after the conclusion of the meeting.

7.     A $1 donation is requested at each meeting, plus the cost of your lunch.  First time visitors do not pay the $1.00

8.     The current arrangement with Hamburger Hamlet is most generous (that is, the use of the back room for several hours); therefore, if you attend the meeting and prefer not to order lunch, a $5.00 placeholder fee is required.  That money is paid to the waiter.
